Introduction

Nepal Food Scientists and Technologists Association (NEFOSTA) is an autonomous, scientific, non-commercial and non-profit organization of professionals active in various fields of food science and technology. NEFOSTA was founded in 1984 in Dharan and later formally registered in 1986. It is a professional association with ultimate objective to serve humanity through the development, promotion and application of food science and technology to which it is always committed.

NEFOSTA is a professional and educational organization of Food Scientists and Technologists with its central office in Kathmandu. Most of the B.Tech Graduates from the Central Campus of Technology, Dharan are associated with this organization. NEFOSTA is established on 1984, and from the day it is established, it is envloved in various programmes realted to food quality and safety. After 21 years of its establishment, NEFOSTA is seemed as one of the successful organization of the food technologists and professionals. It had already worked and been working to create awareness regarding food safety to the general public.
